A little inspiration..

These are just some spaces I found while surfing for some inspiration. Guess what, I found some.

First I just wanna talk about this space. OH MY GOODNESS, is about all i can say. It's not the furniture or the flowers that makes the space great. If you take away all of that the room still looks the same, you still see the actual design of the room. Now THAT is what Interior design is. A space has met it's purpose when you can take away all of it's 'makeup' and still see the beauty and the design that it's supposed to convey. This is what inspires me. You don't need all the stuff to ritz it up, it does it for it's self. Which is amazing

Now you can admire these spaces and even quirky and cool ideas.

This would be great for a kids room.

Kinda just wanna read a book here all day.

See if you take everything out you still get that homey, country spacious feel. The furniture should not determine the feel of the room it should only add to it.

I'm kinda just in love with libraries.

I just love this idea for a bed frame. The mirror is so elegant.

In the Summa Time When the Weather is Fine

So i've been really psyched for summer lately. I've been thinking about all my plans. Camping, road trip, and hopefully a foreign country! There's definately a few things I wanna do this summer that I didn't get to do last summer. One of those things is spend much more time in the water. Possibly some of the time learning to surf! Its been a rough week and God and thinking about summer has definately kept me positive. These pictures were also a big inspiration!

Children do the Darndest things

On the subject of feeling childlike and being nostalgic and such about my childhood, I was reminded of what my toddlers class did this morning that was ever so cute. Whilst I was trying to tidy the classroom so it didn't look like a tornado hit it when the parents came, and also cut down on my work afterward the children decided to do something so cute. Well first off I have to say EVERY toy was on the ground to the little plastic bins in the shelf where empty. I took them all out and started to fill one, as i was doing this i turned around to find all of them sitting individually in a different plastic bucket littered all over the room. They were then completely amused for the next 20 minutes being pushed around in the bins then putting them on their heads running around the room making zooming noises. It was the cutest encounter I have ever had.

It definitely makes me so excited for the future and to have my own kids one day. This last few weeks I have been thinking about it more prominently. With Generations weekend last weekend at church it made me think, wow, I cannot wait to raise my one day family here and all week I have had more than normal 'I love my church' moments and those moments turning into "My God is so great" moments.

This week was a struggle, and these types of weeks always remind me of what God has done in my life and how i used to how you would say 'handle' situations or react to certain circumstances. Like Pastor John said this morning "Sometimes you have to look back to move forward" and its so true. And I'm ever so excited for what ever comes next and my future.

Too inspired to sleep

So i'm halfway through my first wednesday 4 hour break. And I amdone all my reading for English. Since I was up all night looking at achitecture that inspires me I though I would share a few that I particularily loved. Some modern, most older. I am definately a fan of the natural. Stone, brick, or wood leave me utterly speachless and feeling all giddy-in-the-clouds like.

I just don't even know how this was done. Ingenious.
The different varieties of columns that were built early on are amazing. Same idea but each culture has their own variety and adaptions.

This is the Natural Museum of History.
I wish to walk slowly through buildings like this soaking the textures and history and engineering of these monstorous works. Running my hands along the natural stone.

This i don't even know. Amazing as well.
This is a church. The amount of detail and effort, thought, technique, time, skill, and creativity to make this blows me away. All for God's house.
This picture just makes me think back to when it was made. What went on their. The values beleif and caulture that existed at the time.

This is just flipping neat! Like Tarzan and Jane. I just love wood.

Desperately love the morrocan/asian/spanish inspired feel.

Is it weird that sprial staircases and bookcases give me butterflies?

This is a university. Like how i've mentioned before. I would love to go to school in a building like this. So inspriring and cozy.

This is my absolute favorite. The Strahov Monestery. Absolutely breathtaking. I actually have no words. The intricate...well everything. The book cases, columns, ceilings, staircases, colors, detail. It kind of reminds me of the Beast's castle in Beauty and the Beast.

This is not even a quarter of what I stumbled upon last night. I am constantly intrigued by the different styles from different parts of the world. When houses were beginning to be built, their authors had no idea what buildings looked like in other parts of the world. With little means of transportation and record technologies each community had their own style. I one day hope to be able to witness the many varieties of mediums and teture and history of buildings all over the world.

I'm off on an adventure.

Now I have posted about my love of sailboats, and my undying goal to go sailing! I also love Lighthouses. The idea of living in a Lighthouse would be so cool. Like in one of my favorite childhood movies "Pete's Dragon" or that movie that's like Cheaper by the Dozen..the name escapes the walls of my minds at this moment. You could do so much to the interior of a lighthouse. The wooden beams, winding staircases, circular nautical windows. The the top floor a circular glass room with a giant light, so cozy. The constant sound of waves bombarding a mortar of rock. While winds attempt to blow down the house in the evening, come morning the calm is deafening.

Hey Mr. Rager. Tell me where you're going, tell us where you're headed

I'm off on a adventure, Mr. Rager Tell me some of your stories, Tell us of your travels

Sentimental Heart

I watched Ramona and Beezus last night. I was not really expecting to like it, but really wanted to see it since I read the book maybe 5 times between the ages of 7-9. I loved it, but not for the reasons I thought I would.

Actually it made me cry. Don't laugh.
But it also made me excited. Excited to one day get married and have my own family. A Family is perfectly unperfect as this one. You will understand when you watch it. A husband who loves his children relentlessly, and his wife. Children whom will be crazy if their anything like me. But they will be mine and I will love them.
Even for the brief few moments my brother watched it he mumbled 'why can't our parents be like that'
I don't care if we have rough time, my children drive me nuts, and everything isn't 'prefect'
Lately God has me super excited for this in the future, almost giddy actually.
Anyway watch the movie, cause i know many of you reading this will feel the same as me.

As a sophmore, with Reggaeton

This morning in Art we had to do nude sketches :S I was kinda strange at first and i'm glad we had a girl, or else that would have been uncomfertable. But after a while of drawing you don't even realise its a naked woman your drawing and like all drawing if we kinda peaceful. I guess it was cause i realised the beauty of the human body. All the different lines, curves, porportions. We drew a few gesture sketches then a 10 minute standing pose. A half hour and a 45 minute sitting pose, then a 45 minute laying down pose. The next two classes we're going to have nude models too..and i'm pretty sure that means we will have guys. Class got out at 1 and now i'm chillen in the lounge on my laptop. I enjoy the atmosphere of University. Independance, knowledge, community, discussion its pretty sweet. This building is packed with people with all kinds of intellegence and talents. I just wanna take everything in their brain and put it in mine. I would go to school and take classes forever if i could. History, Art History, Philosophy, socialagy. I love learning about things. The things that have happened and what people have done facinates me. If my passion wasn't arts and design I would have totally done history. I do wanna take art history but i hear its a HUGE workload.
OH and i registered for next semester. I have 4 courses. English, drawing 2, intro painting, and marketing-small business essentials. I really wanted to take Either business or Art history but I think 5 courses is pushing it especially with English 1100 because there are many papers and with church and work I don't think I would be able to put my all into the courses i'm having some trouble with thee now.

I'm going to go study for my Eco midterm now until 6.

Then I see you, you're walking cross the campus.
Cruel professor, Studying romances

Thanks Gab for always getting that stuck in my head at school.

Free To Dream

"The longer i keep putting it off the longer it can stay a dream and i can't screw it up" Ted Mosby

So much on my mind over the last week I don't know how many thoughts have been ricocheting around my head. And every day over the last week whether it be on the bus walking across campus God has strategically put little things in my place to stop me from thinking or the opposite make me think about something.

This evening I read my message thread and just sat there and though how this sucks half of my best friends are one the other side of the world and how much I just wish we could all be together because we're so strong when we're together. I went down stairs and my mom was watching How I Met your Mother so I sat down and watched for a few minutes then Ted Mosby said that quote...or something along the lines. I realised this doesn't suck, this is amazing. Their living these huge dreams god has put before them and one by one all of us are gonna take flight on ours. Paula going to Bible school then/or Spain and I don't want Gabs to go but maybe Italy for her? Who knows maybe I'll end up in Ireland or Scotland or maybe just here. Everything has always pointed to Interior Design and I know that isn't the big picture. When your little you think your career is the big picture but what you do with your life and "what you become" isn't necessarily your career. I think Interior Design is just a start to what I really wanna do. Flip house and help families who don't have a home that adequates them. Like those who are special needs and need specialized homes, or people that have been devastated and need their home fixed; Something like Extreme Home Makeover without the show. I just need to keep praying and wait God will reveal things in his time I feel like what I'm doing right now is just right.

Anyways that's been my thoughts this last week. And how I need to study more instead of just two days before things.
