Chasing Rainbows

If you have not noticed, I love coziness. Blankets, fires(camp or fireplaces), Pajama's, Sweaters, Mittens, slippers, knits, cozying up with a good book and a tea, etc. Today was my only day of reading break, I used this day to make a wicked awesome fort with Best Friend. It was by far the best fort I have ever built. Maybe not the best i have ever seen, especially after looking for pictures for this entry. There are definitely some awesome ones out there. I'm now totally stoked to make an even bigger and better fort. Maybe thats what i'll do for my birthday, a HUGE fort-out. With pretty lights, full of pillows and maybe some air fresheners if Gabbi's gonna come. Definitely NO DORITOS. Ahem. Here is a phone picture of our lovely creation.

So I spent majority of my wholed up in a wonderful little paradise with best friend sister and second mother watching Community. Which is a new favorite you must check it out. Sorry Paul for say I did not like this show before. My bad that I definitely thought it was another show, Parks and Recreation I think. We had tons of pillows and Alex brought in the christmas lights to line the place and bring in some light. It was indeed our own little hideaway.

It also got me thinking about how our life is like a fort. Sometimes you keep yourself comfortable within your own little walls and never step out of the "fort". You get lazy and distracted and put aside the stuff that God is asking you to do and you start to procrastinate because you don't wanna leave your little bubble of coziness where you're comfortable with everyone inside your walls. You spend so much time building your little fort and when its done its your own little paradise too afriad to leave or let anyone foreign in your fort. However nice your fort is you can never grow or learn within your fort, of course you could have your laptop and learn things on there maybe stay in your fort forever and take online courses. But what would you do with that information, you would have no hands on experience with it. You couldn't take a bunch of business courses and go out and actually have the skills to open and run a business. Or you could sit and read your bible all day every day. Sure the bible is AWESOMELY WICKED. I mean its the word of God, which basically means its fantastic and you can't do life without it. But what would you do with the life God has spoken into you within the walls of your fort. You need to step out and be uncomfortable to grow, you NEED to step out and be uncomfortable to shows God's grace and love. You get it?

So my goal is to create the most awesome fort ever. Another thought, Letitia this is for you. My dear friend Letitia told me about how in England for Christmas they have what you call a 'lockdown' with all your family for like a week and just watch movies, be lazy, eat, and catch up with one another. When she comes back she wants to do this with all of us. I am so totally excited for that.

And I have a new proposition: This should happen in an extreme FORT!

So if you know me you know i'm a BIG sweater fan. I love knit sweater so flippen much. I pretty much wear a different one every day of the week. Especially grandpa sweaters, colorful ones, and ones with sweet geometric prints. Oh and definately mens cardigans :) Here's a few I REALLY REALLY want!

Grab me a tea, a book (preferable my bible), and one of these sweaters and i'll be comfy for eternity!

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.

I LOVE WINTER!

I love it with all my being. It is my utmost favourite time of the year. I wish it could be December ALL YEAR ROUND. There is nothing better, I even love the cold, the slush the rain. Call me crazy, but there's something magical about December, and its not only because of Christmas.

So because I've gone winter crazy its pretty much the only pictures I've been browsing. Heres some that make me happy :)

Off to Never Never Land

One with walls and walls of books. With rich woods and brick.

So I could go hid away...

In a chair like this and curl up with a good book.

Maybe find one hidden away, one from years back. With dust lining the edge of the pages and the cover worn with love.

Words are one of our biggest gifts. I love how a word, a sentance, or a paragraph can take you to a whole new world. Excite you, make you dream or ignite a passion inside of you. The book that I love the most for this is the bible. But I think God equipped people specifically with the skill of writing to spark the imagination to help you discover foreign lands and far away places. To inspire you to get out there and live your dream. Books are not just mean to live vicariously though.

I wish I was there right now.

Wandering the aisles, running my hands along all the textures.

Walking barefoot, feeling the rich soft carpet.

Like a kid in a candy store.

All the stories just shouting from their shelves.

I wish I was going to University in the states sometimes. Somewhere like Yale or Stanford. The buildings are so rich and luxurius. The mass of brick, the pillars, the arches, the architecture in general. I feel I could read in a feild in the fall for house surrounded by the beauty and warmth of the buildings and fall colors. Cozied up in jacket and a few layers of knits. Go class to class in those hallways rich with history thinking about all who have walked through here. Sometime I think I should go into architecture, but I really don't dream of myself doing that i'm just amazing by it and what can compliment it.

Oh Christmas tree, Oh christmas tree.

Okay so like i promised here an actual post of what has been happening the last week or two. It has actually been to hectic to even collect my thoughts.

First of all I want to tell you all about Disney on Ice. It was Magical. Thats about the only word I can put with it. I went with my two Spanish second families. Well two of them were pretty much my actual family. The youngest that came with us was 16. I actually felt like a child again. I got so excited for every part and think I took like 300 photos. Which reminds me, I need to go through and post those.I wanna go every year. It reminds me of Disneyland. Which is truely the happiest place on earth.

I decided a few days ago that I want to go to Disneyland at christmas time with the 5 of us. Because those are seriously my three favorite things. Its not going to happen. Don't get me wrong I am going again. But when I go next it will be a road trip in the summer so we can take the coast highway hit the beaches do some surfing, [which I will hopefully be learning to do this summer on our island roadtrip], and do some camping.

Speaking of christmas, I am in bliss everyday. I love the EVERYTHING about christmas.

Well except how the economy has made its this 'gimme gimme gimme' season.

But I love that my family or friends are not like that.

I love spending that extra time with people in cozy environments.

And for me especially is the ferry trip on christmas eve then getting to my Nana and Papa's and watching Santa Clause 1.

Nothing beats Santa Clause 1. The others cannot compare, therefor I refuse to watch them. Then spending time with my family usually just doing nothing but relaxing for about a week. Christmas is honestly my favorite thing in the world besides Jesus. I think thats why I love christmas so much aswell is because it is all about Jesus and should be. Was just gonna go off on that, but I think i'll save that for another post in a few days.

Ending on a lighter note. I learnt the coolest thing last night. I downloaded an app for my phone that lets me control my Itunes. I have so far been using it to confuse the heck out of my family. I'm going to play tricks on my brother when he gets home from work. Its pretty sweet, Technology is amazing.

I'm so in love with this season and i feel so prepared now with my many sweaters and boots. :)


There's so much I want to do in the fall and never get a chance to do so here's my list to make the most out of this wonderful season.

What would you do if I sang out of tune?

This morning i set off on a marvelous adventure with the best friend. Our mission - fall school shopping; cozy sweaters, and many a pretty shirts and anything for fall. Oh and i birthday present for both our good friend Callum and my brother. We started at Hollister than made our way to H&M. After that our favourite Urban Outfitters then the lovely boutique Mintage.

We finished the success of the day lounging in a cafe we have always wanted to venture into. Said cafe being "Cafe Du Soliel" a lovely little place exterior paints of florals and fall and inside a mellow place to just chill and a stage to perform live music or slam poetry. Why we've been hesitant i do not know why because i felt right at home and i have a feeling its gonna be a regular on our commercial visits.

And i'm know stuggling with my dog's constant need to be standing on me while i write this. But i must bid farewell because i must be at school all day to study for my economics midterm. Goodbye and Goodnight


One last though : How I love downtown in the fall! Its even better than summer.

I cannot wait for fall and winter. I do not mind the rain...good thing I live in Vancouver. Just need to get some clothes shopping done and i'll be all good. The colder season's are definately my favourite. The attire of course makes me feel so cozy; knitted sweatshirts, gloves, toques, scarves. Spending time inside with family and friends wrapped up in blankets drinking hot beverages, sharing hearty laughs and juvenille stories while the rain hits the windows in the background. Walking in the snow while it crunches under your feet. How the hustle and bustle of christmas can almost seem relaxing. Generally the christmas spirit just makes me grin from ear to ear, why can't it be like that all the time. Don't get my wrong I love the summer time, fall and winter have an atmosphere that I find more enjoyable.

Oh and the color definately don't help my liking for these magical seasons
