Casted.

Tumblr_kvr6jp638e1qzr6ooo1_500_largeI thought i'd share the somewhat results of my x-rays yesterday. Sorry for all the posts, it's been awhile so trying to catch up.

Yesterday I had x-rays and an doctors appointment. I don't know the results of my x-ray's until next week. But my Doctor said that it looks good and wants me to start puttig some weight on it and take some steps around on the carpet.
He explained to me it IS going to be painful because i tore ligaments and they're regrown they're all really short and tight and they have to stretch out. That's where physio is gonna come in.

I did that today, but since I still can't move most of my toes its kinda hard to walk. It didn't really hurt. It was just hard in the sense that when you take a step you curl your toes to make a push off and i can't do that. When I take a step it kinda feels like I don't have any toes if that makes any sense.

So that's an update. I get my x-ray's back next week. And i'll update you then and possibly post a picture of my x-ray before and after if i can get them!

Two months

So Friday marks two months of my injury. It is also the day I go for x-ray's to see if this long journey is over. It's been interesting. I'm so excited to be back to myself. I'm tired of not feeling or acting like myself, sitting around doing nothing gives me too much time to think and make things up in my head that aren't necesarrily true. I was gonna get into it but i decided not to but its definitely been the hardest thing i've ever done.

On the plus side, the weather hasn't been very summery so i don't feel like i'm missing all that much!
My dad set up the back yard for summer this weekend so i'm stoked, let the bbq's begin! Which i plan to do a lot. and get the fire pit going its definitly about time to start my summer!

So pray for more than positive results on friday so that i can get my cast of sometime next week!

Because i'm more than done with this!

The trials and tribulations of having a broken foot.

Sorry I've been missing for awhile. My laptop has crashed and there is no way of saving it. Well there is but the amout it will cost me for my tech to fix it is about the same worth of the computer. Even if  I do get it fixed it will happen again because my laptop is way to old and out dated.

So my last post was about how I broke my foot. And that was a month ago.
Now a month later my foot still broken and i'm just getting ready to be off crutches.
I'm not gonna lie its been one of the hardest struggles i've ever had to deal with. EVER. Mostly because I HAVE to be at home and listen to my parents fight or yell at me for really no reason, but I don't wanna get into that.
It's really been a fight to sit at home every day well usually 5-6 out of 7 days every week for a month. No one's really visited beside's lifegroup, but I understand their life has got to go on and they're all busy like I usually am, May's a big month and summer's just beginning and everyone is in job search/dilemma. Completely understand, it's just hard.
This is definitely one thing I struggled with. And God has definitely brought me to a new level of understanding. I think of Lisa and Mike who were in the hospital all that time and how CRAZY they must have been going. But Cabin Fever has really gotten to my head and I know the devil was putting those thoughts in my head to try and seperate me from whom I love most.

Crutches have also be hard. Really I just wanna walk. Try not walking for even a day. It's probably one of the hardest trials ever. I've had several fights with myself to even sit on the couch or sit down. My friends will tell you. When I am out I refuse to sit and rest because thats pretty much what I do all day. I will stand in fron of the couch for a good 15 minutes and stare at it before I actually sit down on it. I tried not to sit on the couch one for an entire day, I sat on my computer chair and wheeled myself around the house. But then my parents flipped out because the chair was marking up the wood floors and I am no longer supposed to use it extensively.
I have cried numerous times out of frustration, and cried myself to sleep just because i left something downstairs, fell, or for a reason that I really didn't need to cry about.

I knew I needed God, but i've come to the realisation how much I really need him on a day to day basis.
You would never think that doing nothing could affect you so much.

God's timing is perfect cause women's Conference could not have been at a better time. I have got more out of it then I ever have and am able to apply what i've learnt every day.

There was more but I cannot put words to it right now. But thats what my last month has been like, and where i've been

This months Yellow Brick Road

Almost two weeks since I have broken my foot. It has been interesting to say the least, and its DEFINITELY had its ups and downs.

Most of the time I'm super bored. The first week of relaxing was nice. Now I don't feel relaxed. I feel like a cooped up chicken. The first three days I just wanted to throw my crutches, now I'm getting pretty good at them. I've crossed pretty much everything off my list besides some books i wanna finish reading. I actually just wanna run. And this is going to be THE first thing I'm going to do. Maybe go for a walk. Frolic in a field. Do summersaults. I don't know just get out of this house. I really think this is the only reason I'm still working. Is to get out of the house. And I cannot wait for Sunday's a lot more than usual.

On the other hand...

I am SO thankful for everyone in my life being so supportive and visiting me and such. I especially like treats, until my mom started getting mad at my brother bringing me ice cream. But hey, I wanted ice cream and he wanted a reason to drive. It WAS the perfect solution at the time.

I am SO thankful I really am not in any pain other than discomfort. I really haven't even taken any medication or Tylenol since it happened. Actually even on the day it happened I didn't take anything. So blessed, I could be in a ton of pain.

It also could have been way worse. I could have fallen and broken more, had surgery, be in one of those permanent casts instead of my removable air cast (although i kinda wanted one of those so people could sign it), or had a permanent injury of some sort for it.

And I'm BEYOND thankful that this isn't permanent. Some people have to live on crutches, in wheelchairs, in hospitals, and at a young age too. Yeah right now this sucks for me. But I think about all the people who live like this day to day. The people that have cancer and ARE stuck at home everyday like my friend Sam was. I'm always reminded that someone else ALWAYS has it worse. And God loves that person no more and no less than myself.

What I find the craziest is the God is performing a miracle on my right now. He is moving and healing the bone right inside me. I find this the craziest thing. I cannot hear, feel, see, know this is going on. Two days after I went back to the doctors he told me the bone moved by itself back into place. God made our bodies this awesome. Think about all the functions your body has. It does so many things just to keep itself healthy that you're not even aware of, it just does them by itself. I think that's pretty miraculous. Something like that HAD to be made by something. And I love my creator so much for designing and caring for my body. When we break ourselves, literally, we're not just broke like when you break a twig of a tree. I think that's something to be more than thankful for.

I really am the kind of person that's ALWAYS on the go, never home. So this is weird and frustrating for me. I've already learnt so much about God and myself and its only the first little while. Well not like this is actually going to be a long period of time. I have chosen that this is a positive, and yes I have moment's where I get frustrated and think 'this is such an inconvenience.' It's in the time of inconvenience and fear that you have the most opportunity to grow.

The Story of How I Broke my Foot

So Sunday I decided to learn to Long Board. It was beautiful out, I was wearing my sunglasses and my moccassons, it felt like summer. I'm proud to say, I was doing quite well, getting a little fast and able to stear. I was just really having problems peddling as I was already moving. So I had to learn to put more weight on my front foot when transitioning. So I tried this...well apparently I put to much weight on my front foot and also leaned forward too much. This is how I remember it, it happened to fast really. my foot twisted on the board and then it the ground I used my right leg to steady myself. I'm amazed I didn't actually fall off the board. Well i fell off the board..but not on the ground.

Initially I thought i Just rolled my ankle. So I decided to walk it off a little. But clearly that wasn't working. The pain in my foot kept changing. When I put pressure on it, it was hurting less then no pressure, which is what gave me the thought that walking it off was a good idea. Then I just decided it hurt to much and I was just going to stay in one place until it stopped, but it didn't so i figured I better make my way back to them. Now during all this Gabbi, Paul and Paula had no idea where i was because I was bent over behind a bush. and there were some cars parked around me, I was in Gabbi's apartment building parking lot.

So i'm limping back over to them when they realize, i've hurt myself..none of us thought it was as bad as it was. So i sit on my board and realize that there is a bone or something sticking out of my foot. Well not right out of my foot, still under the skin.

Now at this moment in time i'm finding this whole situation
HALARIOUS.
I just couldn't stop lauging.

So we decide to go to the clinic thinking, Hey something must have popped out and they just have to pop it back. Within like a minute of being in the clinic office the doctor told me to go to emergency and gave me crutches. I even found this halarious. I really don't know why I just thought it was the funniest thing ever. Then I had to call my mom to take me. And BAM, the sound of my mom's voice made my cry, Mother's do that to do.

And the rest is really short I guess, go to Emergency, there for 2 hours, xray, a lot of walking around from place to place, waiting for nurses, different onces everytime that were all very vague. Then go home.

(and thats not my x-ray, i found that online)
I've already realised this is going to be an interesting few weeks. I feel extremely helpless i need to rely on everyone. When i'm home alone I just get so frustrated i'm brought to tears. But it's definitely going to be an amazing experience to learn more about myself and more than that, God. I'm always the person doing everything, taking on everything, never just sitting on the couch. Sitting on the couch all day and not getting out of the house drives me INSANE! but thats what these next few weeks are. I'm ready to give up on crutches. They make my whole upper body sore. And I can't get anywhere on them. But this is definitely an important thing I have to go through.

At least I can say I broke my foot doing something cool, AND the Canucks won for me that night.
What is living life without risks?
