This months Yellow Brick Road

Almost two weeks since I have broken my foot. It has been interesting to say the least, and its DEFINITELY had its ups and downs.

Most of the time I'm super bored. The first week of relaxing was nice. Now I don't feel relaxed. I feel like a cooped up chicken. The first three days I just wanted to throw my crutches, now I'm getting pretty good at them. I've crossed pretty much everything off my list besides some books i wanna finish reading. I actually just wanna run. And this is going to be THE first thing I'm going to do. Maybe go for a walk. Frolic in a field. Do summersaults. I don't know just get out of this house. I really think this is the only reason I'm still working. Is to get out of the house. And I cannot wait for Sunday's a lot more than usual.

On the other hand...

I am SO thankful for everyone in my life being so supportive and visiting me and such. I especially like treats, until my mom started getting mad at my brother bringing me ice cream. But hey, I wanted ice cream and he wanted a reason to drive. It WAS the perfect solution at the time.

I am SO thankful I really am not in any pain other than discomfort. I really haven't even taken any medication or Tylenol since it happened. Actually even on the day it happened I didn't take anything. So blessed, I could be in a ton of pain.

It also could have been way worse. I could have fallen and broken more, had surgery, be in one of those permanent casts instead of my removable air cast (although i kinda wanted one of those so people could sign it), or had a permanent injury of some sort for it.

And I'm BEYOND thankful that this isn't permanent. Some people have to live on crutches, in wheelchairs, in hospitals, and at a young age too. Yeah right now this sucks for me. But I think about all the people who live like this day to day. The people that have cancer and ARE stuck at home everyday like my friend Sam was. I'm always reminded that someone else ALWAYS has it worse. And God loves that person no more and no less than myself.

What I find the craziest is the God is performing a miracle on my right now. He is moving and healing the bone right inside me. I find this the craziest thing. I cannot hear, feel, see, know this is going on. Two days after I went back to the doctors he told me the bone moved by itself back into place. God made our bodies this awesome. Think about all the functions your body has. It does so many things just to keep itself healthy that you're not even aware of, it just does them by itself. I think that's pretty miraculous. Something like that HAD to be made by something. And I love my creator so much for designing and caring for my body. When we break ourselves, literally, we're not just broke like when you break a twig of a tree. I think that's something to be more than thankful for.

I really am the kind of person that's ALWAYS on the go, never home. So this is weird and frustrating for me. I've already learnt so much about God and myself and its only the first little while. Well not like this is actually going to be a long period of time. I have chosen that this is a positive, and yes I have moment's where I get frustrated and think 'this is such an inconvenience.' It's in the time of inconvenience and fear that you have the most opportunity to grow.

The Story of How I Broke my Foot

So Sunday I decided to learn to Long Board. It was beautiful out, I was wearing my sunglasses and my moccassons, it felt like summer. I'm proud to say, I was doing quite well, getting a little fast and able to stear. I was just really having problems peddling as I was already moving. So I had to learn to put more weight on my front foot when transitioning. So I tried this...well apparently I put to much weight on my front foot and also leaned forward too much. This is how I remember it, it happened to fast really. my foot twisted on the board and then it the ground I used my right leg to steady myself. I'm amazed I didn't actually fall off the board. Well i fell off the board..but not on the ground.

Initially I thought i Just rolled my ankle. So I decided to walk it off a little. But clearly that wasn't working. The pain in my foot kept changing. When I put pressure on it, it was hurting less then no pressure, which is what gave me the thought that walking it off was a good idea. Then I just decided it hurt to much and I was just going to stay in one place until it stopped, but it didn't so i figured I better make my way back to them. Now during all this Gabbi, Paul and Paula had no idea where i was because I was bent over behind a bush. and there were some cars parked around me, I was in Gabbi's apartment building parking lot.

So i'm limping back over to them when they realize, i've hurt myself..none of us thought it was as bad as it was. So i sit on my board and realize that there is a bone or something sticking out of my foot. Well not right out of my foot, still under the skin.

Now at this moment in time i'm finding this whole situation
HALARIOUS.
I just couldn't stop lauging.

So we decide to go to the clinic thinking, Hey something must have popped out and they just have to pop it back. Within like a minute of being in the clinic office the doctor told me to go to emergency and gave me crutches. I even found this halarious. I really don't know why I just thought it was the funniest thing ever. Then I had to call my mom to take me. And BAM, the sound of my mom's voice made my cry, Mother's do that to do.

And the rest is really short I guess, go to Emergency, there for 2 hours, xray, a lot of walking around from place to place, waiting for nurses, different onces everytime that were all very vague. Then go home.

(and thats not my x-ray, i found that online)
I've already realised this is going to be an interesting few weeks. I feel extremely helpless i need to rely on everyone. When i'm home alone I just get so frustrated i'm brought to tears. But it's definitely going to be an amazing experience to learn more about myself and more than that, God. I'm always the person doing everything, taking on everything, never just sitting on the couch. Sitting on the couch all day and not getting out of the house drives me INSANE! but thats what these next few weeks are. I'm ready to give up on crutches. They make my whole upper body sore. And I can't get anywhere on them. But this is definitely an important thing I have to go through.

At least I can say I broke my foot doing something cool, AND the Canucks won for me that night.
What is living life without risks?

Canuck Fever

You can tell that Vancouver taking their united, newly found Patriotic spirit and reliving it with the playoffs this year. I'm so stoked for playoffs. I follow the game scores all year round but never really watch a game until playoffs.
So Vancouver Canucks - HERE WE GO!

This reminds me of the Olympics.

Let The Wild Rumpus Begin!

Probably my favorite book as a child, and one of my favorite movies of all time! And now I can't stop listening to the soundtrack that was specifially written for the movie.
WARNING:
You may find it weird, but I love it. Don't say I didn't warn you.

OH -
and I couldn't find my favorite song which is Capsize.
It's the best!

DONE!

So i'm OFFICIALLY done my first year of university.

So when i posed the last pictures of my art i still had two final projects to complete. And i'll show you now, because i'm very proud of the both of them! Especially my drawing, becaues i finally got an A in Robert's class, which i've been trying all semester to do. Yes it meant, scrapping my project twice, the second time at 9pm the night before it was due, and staying up until 5 am. It was so worth it!

Anyways here is my final drawing and painting:

I did do about an hour more work on this one before class, just tuning up.
I trimmed it, as well as made the tv screens look more reflective and 3D.
And this one is not fully complete, I still need to do more work on the tentacles and suction cups!

Hello, i'm addicted to trucks.

So as you all know i'm addicted to trucks. My dream truck is a 84-86 Ford Rangers. As pictured here. But I have been informed, well  I should now say I acknowledge, that these are going to cost me alot of money in the long run and i'm sure i'll be stuck on the side of the road someday with it. I have always known this I just wanted one so badly.

But I have some exciting news. My friend is selling her lovely '96 Chevy S10. Which is still a beautiful truck. I had a chance to talk it over with my father and he's for it! He just wants to look at it and that baby(in royal blue) may practically by mine! Thanks Becca.

I'm stoked, now just gotta get my lisence to drive it! Easier said than done. But as soon as I have completed the next week of school my number one priority besides working is my lisence! It will be done before I turn 20, I have vowed to myself.

Proverbs 17:17

Where ever we are: I'll love you guys to pieces.

I feel like I take the fact that I have the two of you (Gabbi and Paula) here with me right now for granted. The fact that I can talk to you face to face, or even simply give you a hug..or a nose massage means so much. So just so you know I love you two and I don't know what I would do without you. Leanna and Meaghan too! God put all 4...well 6 of you in my life for a specific reason. And each of you have a different reason. I'm so blessed to have you all and I'm always thankful. I just wanted you to know.
(PS a found a good friend picture with 5 girls; woot)

PROVERBS 17:17
Friends love through all kinds of weather, and families stick together through all kinds of trouble.

Threehundredandsixtyfivedays.

So I've had a pretty nostalgic week.
This past week was the Miss Gabriela Tarves Birthday.
It was splendid.
We went laser tagging then back to Paul's house for some food and Cranium.

A year ago on her birthday Letitia, Paula and I went to Ikea to celebrate Gabbi's birthday while she partying it up in Costa Rica. It was around this time that I also went laser tagging with Chanel, Letitia, Mike, Nate, Sterling, Becca and some others. It was also when Daniel De Jong was here. Youth Conference. As well as a lot of memorable nights with Chanel and Letitia. As well as I was fighting big time with my family.

So much has happened in the last year its crazy. It's weird to think a year ago Chanel and Letitia were here, in Canada. And it's weird to think they are now miles and miles away living amazing lives. And man it's super hard. I miss them literally every day.

Time is so precious, yet people spend so much time wasting it.

I want to seize every moment for good, for something that's getting me closer to something, whether it be God, a goal, a relationship with a friend, myself. A moment spent not getting you further in life is wasted. It's a moment of time God has given you that you've thrown in the garbage. In reality we don't have that much time on earth. We are in the year 2011, several lives have come and gone before us. We are not here for a significant amount of time. So what are you going to do with these moments ahead of you? I hope not just exist.

I've spent some time in this last year thinking, 'i just wanna be done school, started my design firm, and my family.' I'm clearly missing it, because that's a long time from now. I don't want to miss the here and now. If I spend too much time longing and wanting the future to be here now, I won't be able to grasp these moments that are so crucial to me getting there. I'll just be going through the actions. And i NEVER want to just be going through the actions, cause I know God has so much more for me and I'll miss it completely if my eyes aren't focused on this moment because that's how God works.

Playing Catch Up.

Okay for starters I HAVE ONE WEEK OF CLASSES LEFT :S
It's really bitter sweet. I've really been loving this year, this semester in general. I've never felt so artisitcally and creatively challenged in my life and i'm loving it. Next semester in the fall i'm going to be going to cloverdale campus doing a completely different program. I've come to make quite a few awesome friends. I'm gonna miss them, and more than anything the art studio. I was contemplating for the last month switching to the Batchelor of Fine Arts. I mean I love it, don't get my wrong but thats not really where my heart is and I know it, and I realised that more than anything tonight. And just because I i'm not taking the BFA or in art classes doesn't mean I can't do my own drawings and paintings. In fact i'm goin to do as much as I can for my portfolio. I never wanna lose this artistic side of me that I love so much with the busy-ness of school and work. So i'm hoding myself to that as much as i possibly can.

Another thought is, its weird that i'm officially going to be done my first year of University. My first year - done. I've been graduated almost 2 years. A lot has happened in two years but i'm not going to get into that, its for another post.
One thing this lovely lady named Jenna said to me the day of Church Graduation that I will never forget is, "the rest of your life will fly by so fast." And I just gotta keep remembering that. I don't wanna miss a thing. And this again is a completely different post.

So now that i'm done most of my catch up for y'all i shall continue with posts of what's been on my mind.
