In the Summa Time When the Weather is Fine
So i've been really psyched for summer lately. I've been thinking about all my plans. Camping, road trip, and hopefully a foreign country! There's definately a few things I wanna do this summer that I didn't get to do last summer. One of those things is spend much more time in the water. Possibly some of the time learning to surf! Its been a rough week and God and thinking about summer has definately kept me positive. These pictures were also a big inspiration!

So if you know me you know i'm a BIG sweater fan. I love knit sweater so flippen much. I pretty much wear a different one every day of the week. Especially grandpa sweaters, colorful ones, and ones with sweet geometric prints. Oh and definately mens cardigans :) Here's a few I REALLY REALLY want!
Grab me a tea, a book (preferable my bible), and one of these sweaters and i'll be comfy for eternity!
Waiting on the world to change
Scratch that - Not waiting on the world to change, gonna change the world myself.
I don't know if anyone has been keeping up with what's happening in Egypt, I have been watching non-stop. I find it incredibly intriguing. Egypt is number one on my travel lists, I really am not to sure why. Whether its something God put on my heart, I don't really know yet, but i find the history there, the artifacts and the culture completely fascinating. One thing that kinda scared me was the thought that if what if I was there right now. What if I had left and went and lived there for a year. Now anyone could play the what if game for hours and end up no where, so i stopped myself right there cause I am not there and clearly am meant to be here right now as that's been shown to me over and over again.
One we've been specifically talking about in English is the whether text slang is eroding the English language or making for more creativity. People's main argument is whether its making our generation stupid. I'm not going to go into all the different argument cause that would take forever and as I can already tell this is clearly gonna be long than I wanted.
There is another debate which I think is incredibly valid and noteworthy. Let me ask you one question first. It it easier to say something over the computer or text message than in person to someone? Most of the time the answer is yes even though most know the right way is to say something personal in person more and more people are just using text or social media to talk about important issues with each other. This has shown to move along boyfriend-girlfriend relationship in teens much faster, resulting in people saying I love you faster and for most high school relationship everything else faster, and I know you know what I mean. Obviously it's not the main cause, but its definitely a contributing factor. I could go into detail but thats pretty much all I wanted to say. Got a little Serious tonight but it's definitely been a week of long hard thought. So think about it. It's definitely making me thing about how much people need to understand there worth and I especially make a point of letting my life group girls now how much their worth is in God. And not just them everyone.

So like a promised here's a few video's of my acquintance, I guess, doing what he does best. What this guy can do with the human langauge blows me away.
Well and then I looked a bit further and found others from this event we had in Grade 12. Reminds me of how talented the people in my grad class were. Too bad there wasn't one of Gab's spoken peices! If happen to be reading this and know her, she still knows it off by heart, that right there is skill, talent, and dedication. Proud to call her Best Friend!
Oh then I found this. Yeah this was my English Teacher. Beyt you wish you had him. He was halarious and taught me so much. I miss kinda miss him. He was an English Prof at UBC so I got to learn some valuable stuff from this guy.

Superpowered Words
Okay so I found this cool contest thats going on in UBC and SFU right now through a friend that entered. Long story short I got to looking through the other entants. And i couldn't help but notice their theme. Not all of them but many of them we're about God. I really enjoyed listening to them so I thought I would share. They're so honest and down to earth, and thats what makes them inspirational.
And this last one is my friend Francis's. Well probably more like acquintance, as we haven't spoken since high school. I still follow his work cause he's a genius with words, but that shall be another post.
Really what amazes me is how much so little can make an impact. These videos are 30 to 60 seconds long and in that amount of time their words impacted me. Its kinda crazy how something maybe as small as a single sentance or even a word can resinate with you and spark a whole thought process or revalation. In my in class summary this week I had to respond to an article. Basically pick a point the author wrote about and agree dissagree or show ambivilance. I chose to agree with the fact that analyzing the world around you can call for a higher vocabulary and sentance structure. I'm not going to spit my essay back out at you don't worry. But my response summed up to sometimes you don't but in most cases you need extra ordinary words to describe something in the ordinary world becuase the world is just that ordinary. Higher vocabulary and new words are being still being added to the dictionary for a reason and that reason is that this invented word was created to describe or define something another word didn't quite fit. Anyways, right now i'm trying to say that, it's pretty spectacular how people can select a few choice words in a sentance and say so much and make such an impact. It makes me think about how I choose my words on a daily basis. It also makes me re-evalute those things that pop into my head that I never say to someone that could be really impactful but because I chose not to say them I missed an oppurtunity. Sometimes it's impossible to really know what words or things you say will impact someone you just really gotta be aware. One things for sure, anything that is a word from God can impact hundreds upon thousands. Wrap you're mind around that, I know I hardly can.

God is good
This is how i've been feeling lately. I don't know if you translate the same thing I do from this picture. Heck I don't even know what I'm translating from the picture sometimes you just can't put words to feelings. I'm feeling so inspired but there's so much going on around me at this moment my life feels cluttered. But honestly, I don't like it any other way. Sometime i'm like i'm doing to much and I sit down and try to sort out what it is I am able to drop. My answer every time = nothing. Every Sunday night i look over my last week and organize my next week. Many a times I end up puzzled at how I got through my last week and then think how the heck am I gonna do the next week. It is so evident God is good, and miraculously I had an essay pushed back a week and no homework assigned for painting next week. On top of that I didn't get scheduled for work on Monday which has its pro's and con's cause I need the money. I think I need the time to put my artisitic inspiration to hard work.

I found this modern artist on Etsy and man I want her work. I just can't afford it. Not that its necessarily pricey, its a good price for what it is. Fact is I'm a student and can't afford things like this at this moment. When I am finally out of school and on my own, I'm going to be the biggest art fanatic ever. I will have to control myself. I want to have amazing pieces all over my house. Hopefully alot of my own and alot of local work.
So anyways this artist name is Sky Witman! Check it out she's pretty legit!

Its gonna be a Mac.
So I have decided at the end of summer I am getting a Mac book. I've come to the long researched conclusion my laptop isn't good for anything. It has 2 Gigs of memory left, take 10 minutes to actually do anything, freezes all the time, changing from window to window is a struggle that also takes 10 minutes or more. Going into my Fall 2011 semester I'm going to need something that can power AutoCAD and this certainly will not do. Its also like 20 pounds and I know its the reason my shoulder is acting up big time. Since i can't abbot $1400 just right away out of my pocket i'm going to do a finance plan and pay monthly. Which will be nicer to build credit. I'm still making 300-400 dollar checks weekly so I should be able to do this. Plus in the summer they'll come with a free Ipod touch which I can sell for a few hundred to help me out.
It's decided. Now to figure out if I want a Macbook or a Pro. I'm thinking the regular Macbook, time to talk to a pro.

A Village of Value
I could literally spend hours in Value Village. As i only have 5 dollars in my bank account today VV visit wasn't as productive as it could have been. I have been looking for/talking about a certain sweater for just over a month now. Its one of those sweaters you can get in Mexico, its woven and in the same material as those blankets that everyone who goes to Mexico gets. While at VV Paula found one. I'm not going to go into detail so lets just say I got to excited, hyperventilated, jumped up and down and cause a caucus about the sweater until I had it. I am no proud to say that I acted like a child. Well since Paula found it and clearly didn't want to give it up we made a deal that if t didn't fit her i could have it. It didn't, so I ended up with it. I am very happy and so thankful that I have an amazing friend who reluctantly handed it over. Paula if it fit you i totally would have stopped my excitement/selfish fit, i was just to overly joyed at the sight of it clearly.
I ended up getting two metal martini glasses to hold my ring on my dresser. They look pretty next to the swan i picked up and my tree necklace holder.
I also found a ravishing ugly sweater for my dear friend Leanna's 20th birthday party.

Children do the Darndest things
On the subject of feeling childlike and being nostalgic and such about my childhood, I was reminded of what my toddlers class did this morning that was ever so cute. Whilst I was trying to tidy the classroom so it didn't look like a tornado hit it when the parents came, and also cut down on my work afterward the children decided to do something so cute. Well first off I have to say EVERY toy was on the ground to the little plastic bins in the shelf where empty. I took them all out and started to fill one, as i was doing this i turned around to find all of them sitting individually in a different plastic bucket littered all over the room. They were then completely amused for the next 20 minutes being pushed around in the bins then putting them on their heads running around the room making zooming noises. It was the cutest encounter I have ever had.
It definitely makes me so excited for the future and to have my own kids one day. This last few weeks I have been thinking about it more prominently. With Generations weekend last weekend at church it made me think, wow, I cannot wait to raise my one day family here and all week I have had more than normal 'I love my church' moments and those moments turning into "My God is so great" moments.
This week was a struggle, and these types of weeks always remind me of what God has done in my life and how i used to how you would say 'handle' situations or react to certain circumstances. Like Pastor John said this morning "Sometimes you have to look back to move forward" and its so true. And I'm ever so excited for what ever comes next and my future.

Oh, I Just Can't Wait to be King
I spent most of all Saturday watching movies. First of all i watched the end of Blades of Glory, all the end of Ferris Bueller's Day off and the end of Pretty in Pink. Then Paul Gabbi and Paula picked me up so we could go to Paula's to watch yet another movie. After the longest debate I've ever had choosing a movie we ended up watching Lion King. I had forgotten how many times I have watched that movie. I felt like a child again, and I'm sure that Gabbi and Paul squared could attest to that because i was acting like one too, getting extremely over excited for each part. I definitely miss the feeling of childhood. How everything was so neat. Constantly asking me mom, 'what is that, what is this, what does that mean, how does this work' or the so many "what if..." questions. Like ridiculous amount of What if questions that were really dumb when i think about them. Like "Mom, what if the sky was purple" I remember asking that exact question and i think my mom replied if it was purple the sky would fall. I give my mom kudos to all the answers she gave me as a child. I can't wait for the ridiculous questions my kids ask. But I decided I definitely wanna have a movie Marathon of all my childhood movies. So here is every movie I LOVED as a child I bolded the ones that i watched the most and were my my up most favorite and the ones largened are my VERY VERY VERY favorite.

COOLEST PICTURE EVER!
This is the result of my 4 hour long break so far. You know my plan to get all that reading done. Yeah hasn't happened. I haven't opened Architecture to Happiness since Christmas due to the fact I've mostly just done homework on my break, which is grand because I've had less to do at home besides art.
OHH and got to skype with Miss Chanel Howe last night with life group! So thankful Luis was able to get the cam working. The girls have really wanted to talk to her. She got the full update and her and Luis even played them a song..even though Luis wouldn't go on cam because the girls were laughing at the manicure Chanel made him get.

Puppetteer of the Universe
In the words of Ashley Mandanici (or close to her words)
God created the universe, he is in charge. You may think your in charge, but you don't have a universe.
The greatness of love
(Psalm 139)
Right now there are 6,768,181,146 people in the world. Think about all the people that have walked this earth before this statistic was made, its probably in the billions but i'm bad at estimating. God created each one of those people individually. He was not just like "meh heres a person theres a person." No he carefully sculpted each and every person, including you to whomever is reading this. Every freckle, every hair, all the colors in your eyes. He made every individual unique. He decided your life long before you even came into existance. Your dreams, your triumphs and even your failures he set in place. Sometimes i think i've grasped how much God loves every single person, then I realise how much more he loves us. And I know i will never fully understand how much he loves us, because even the greatest capacity I have for love does not even come close to his love for me. All I know is, God I love you to my fullest capacity.

Next two months of my life = crazy
I need to start actually saving again since my savings account seems to be dwindling and the not working for a month left zero dollars in my bank account. So i've been promised 3 eight hours shifts a week. Which is awesome. School 3 days a week. Church all day sunday. A day off? I don't think so, I don't think I even have 4 hours off. Two months isn't that long. Which probably means i'll be blogging less, but its okay thats what my 5 hour break is for. yeahh.
Its okay no stress, this will be my anthem for the semester. As i'm kinda intimidated in my art courses, i know i don't give myself enough credit for my abilities.

Too inspired to sleep
So i'm halfway through my first wednesday 4 hour break. And I amdone all my reading for English. Since I was up all night looking at achitecture that inspires me I though I would share a few that I particularily loved. Some modern, most older. I am definately a fan of the natural. Stone, brick, or wood leave me utterly speachless and feeling all giddy-in-the-clouds like.
I just don't even know how this was done. Ingenious.
The different varieties of columns that were built early on are amazing. Same idea but each culture has their own variety and adaptions.
This is the Natural Museum of History.
I wish to walk slowly through buildings like this soaking the textures and history and engineering of these monstorous works. Running my hands along the natural stone.
This i don't even know. Amazing as well.
This is a church. The amount of detail and effort, thought, technique, time, skill, and creativity to make this blows me away. All for God's house.
This picture just makes me think back to when it was made. What went on their. The values beleif and caulture that existed at the time.
This is just flipping neat! Like Tarzan and Jane. I just love wood.
Desperately love the morrocan/asian/spanish inspired feel.
Is it weird that sprial staircases and bookcases give me butterflies?
This is a university. Like how i've mentioned before. I would love to go to school in a building like this. So inspriring and cozy.
This is not even a quarter of what I stumbled upon last night. I am constantly intrigued by the different styles from different parts of the world. When houses were beginning to be built, their authors had no idea what buildings looked like in other parts of the world. With little means of transportation and record technologies each community had their own style. I one day hope to be able to witness the many varieties of mediums and teture and history of buildings all over the world.
