2013?

I'm ready for 2012 to be over. I must say it's been an interesting year. Tons of ups, but a heck of a lot more downs.

This past year nothing just seems to go right unless it's school.
Car accidents, broken bones, dead grandparents just to name the majors.

I feel thoroughly under attack. For the longest time I didn't know if I was taking the right path. I realize now because of the intense opposition I must be. Clearly the devil isn't happy with what i'm doing.

It almost makes me laugh and say "what you got next satan, because i'm still standing and Jesus already won. So bring it."

Well I said that and life decided to bring more at me.. next time i'm just going to say it in my head.

Maybe satan will give up in 2013 and realize nothings gonna knock me down because my God is bigger than anything.

Hello again.

So I've been absent due to school and since i'm DONE besides two projects I guess i'll just back in a bit for the meantime until next semester :)

These photos, beautiful right? Soo I wanna start with sharing my favorite images from Edward Burtynski. I came across these when doing a project on stone this semester and fell absolutely in love with his work. These are stone quarries, amazing how they can look so beautiful.

Creeeeeeep

Can I have a bite of your food?

The lucky one living her dream

So school has STARTED, hence the lack of posts. I've been swallowed in homework, well not really more just running around getting supplies for the first few weeks. I've been super busy and it's hard work but i'm LOVING every second of it.

The program is amazing. It's so much more than I expected. I honestly stopped myself today and just listened to my prof and thought to myself am i really here. I feel like i'm walking in a dream. To talk about design. Draw everyday, expiriment with what I actually see and don't see. I'm not going to actually get to design any interiors this semester it's all fundamental building blocks to get me there, it's a ridiculous amount of fun.

Since there's only 20 people in each class, the program is incredibly tight knit. Everyone knows everyone I had people from other years seeking me out because they hadn't met me yet, third, fourth and fifth years just wonder in an out of my class room and ask if we need help and we can ask for guidance or help with anything.

The people in my class are THE sweetest and i've already become great friends with a lot of them. I can't wait for them to become like family.

My prof's are amazing a lot of them have impressing practice background and are even still practicing on the side.

I could go on forever about how excited I am and how great this is. All that's great, but it only happened because I followed that dream. You know the one, you know exactly what it is right now. I could have given up when they didn't accept me the first time. I could have given up when I was frustrated with being a first year three years in a row. I could have given up when my parents told me I could never do, i can't afford it and i'm going to fail at it. I could have given up simply because it's all the way in richmond and a 4 hour transit a day. But your dreams are hard for a reason. If it's right and it's something you want it's NEVER going to come easily and at some point or a lot of the time it WILL feel impossible. There will always be people telling you it's not possible or you can't do it, one of those people could be yourself. Just know they are wrong, you are wrong. When you beat it and when you get there, you look back and it was all worth it and it was all for a reason. God's timing is perfect and you don't understand it until after. So shoot for your dreams, because some smart lady once told me that if you want it badly enough there's no excuse that is EVER valid.

You know you make me a ghost

Do you remember when the walls fell
Do you remember the sound that the door made when you closed it on me
Do you know that I went down to the ground
Landed on both my broken-hearted knees

I’m a ghost
Haunting these halls
Climbing up walls that I never knew were there
And I’m lost
Broken down the middle of my heart, heart
I’m broken down the middle of my heart, heart, heart

You know you make me a ghost
You make me a ghost

I’m an invisible disaster
I keep trying to walk but my feet don’t find the solid ground
It’s like living in a bad dream
I keep trying to scream but my tongue has finally lost its sound

Unsettling thoughts

Today is the day i've come to rest with the fact I would rather my parent's divorce than stay together.

Whatever happens I hold to you god. I know everything will be okay,

The Climb.

I'm pretty sure I've blogged this before but i'm hoping this is a new take on it.

I have totally just let myself dwell on everything that is going on and I was fully aware of it, I just didn't care. I felt I had a reason to be angry and kinda just allowed myself the time to mop. Which honestly now I'm kind glad I did, because honestly I wouldn't have learnt anything from it. I'm not saying the frustration I'm feeling now or the anger is over. We're totally all aloud to get into those seasons and moods, we're human after all. But I completely wasn't myself and I think that was the problem. I know God created me to be a faith-filled person. I'm usually the one that is pushing no matter what because I know there is a light on the other side of that tunnel. But for a little bit I lost sight of that other side.

One thing lost sight of this time is that opposition is always from the devil and it ALWAYS means God has something amazing for you. The enemy always attacks what is beyond measure of value. I should have said 'BRING IT" because the devil has already lost and whatever comes my way will be totally worth what God is trying teach me or being me to.

Just like these mountains it's a beautiful view once you got to this side of them.

It sounds cliche and and corny but I'm going to quote Miley on this one.

Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb.

Here comes the sun.

Yesterday was my laptop orientation. Which meant this was the first time I was going to meet the 19 others I'm spending every monday to friday + with for 4 years. I was nervous and excited.

I used to be the shy-est person ever. Well in elementary and high-school I was. Now I wouldn't say I'm the most outgoing person in the world, I'm still pretty meek. If elementary and high school was sitting in that room I probably would have sat alone in my spot wanting to start conversation but to afraid. So I figured, fresh start if I'm really going to push myself in the next for years I should probably start crossing some boundries. So I started conversations I never would have in a million katrillion years initiated and mingled with all the people around me. But I promise I still suck at names...and I don't remember anyone's name except this girl Ashley who seemed pretty sweet.

Now I'm going to side track just a little and tell you about how awesome the day was and how fricken excited and thankful I am I got into this program. The morning started a little quiet while we all waited to begin no one really talked besides this one girl I sat beside because she was in my interview group. There were several late student because there was an orientation downstairs too for general students so many got caught up and confused because no one told us exactly where OUR orientation was because they didn't actually write it in the e-mail the location. Whoops.

Every part of the day way fantastic. We have one eccentric teacher she was looking for music then finally found her ghetto blaster then annouced quite suddenly and to be honest a little scarily, "I'M GOING TO GRAB MY TAPES?" She scurried off and then comes back both my other two faculty a  little frightened to what she was going to play. She popped the tapes in and clicked play, I was ecstatic that the tune that started playing was in fact The Beatles. I KNEW I was meant to be there.

The day was just awesome. They talked about startup week, where next week I don't go to any of my classes it's just a ton of activities and we get to go on two feild trips. And then a Chile presentation.

All the doubt it gone, I know it's in god's plan for me to do this, which means nothing is going to get in my way, unless I let it.

I've just kept telling myself that things will get better once school starts. And they will. I'm so excited. Only a week and I can submerse myself in it and then it's CHRISTMAS :)

I'm so looking forward to these next 4 years and everything it entails.

Utonagon

As soon as I finish my program I'm definitely getting a dog. I just stumlbed across this mix, and it's gorgeous!

Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky and German Shephard. Called a Utonagon.
GORGEOUS!

No.

I don't want my foot to be broken anymore. I'm so tired of not being able to do anything, or being a burden on people. Or not being able to enjoy the rest of my summer. More than half the things I wanted to do this August are shot now. I wanted to go for several more bike rides. Go downtown to Granville Island and Main street. For goodness sake I didn't even get to go to the Blarney this entire summer. I wanted to go stroll Jericho. I really really wanted to go to the Zoo. I hate feeling restricted and I feel enough of that at home where I am now unpleasantly stuck because of this damn foot. Two weeks and goooodbye cast FOREVER. I refuse to break it again. Also if I do I can't even imagine the jokes, people already make fun of me enough after the second time.

Frick I'm so done with this.

inked..I wish I was.

Man I just want my tattoo now. Seriously. There's three I've pretty much decided on, I just can't afford them right now. These are what I want so far.

Firstly I want a giant fish on my foot kinda like this, but instead of Faith it's going to say ISAIAH 41:10 and be in a slightly different style.

Secondly I want a doe for my Nana. On the inside of my upper arm, or on the middle side of my back. Either the first one in a line drawing with no detail or the second one in a line drawing or solid black but with no antlers.

Thirdly, I'm getting an anchor with my 4 best friends. Considering 3 of us already have ours. I'm contemplating getting it on the inside or outside of my forearm or the back of my ankle. It's either going to be this skinny one or made up of words that anchor me.

There are a few more but...lets just get some on me first.

September brings all kinds of goodies :)

I'm getting so hyped for school. It almost feels like I've never been to University before. I mean going back to school has always been my favorite. It always feels like a fresh start a new year a time to reinvent myself a little bit.  A new school year means an abundance of new things. I'm excited for meeting new people and for FALL. But this year it's different. It seriously hasn't hit me that i'm going to be studying Interior Design, it almost doesn't feel real at all.

I'm excited to be able to walk across campus, (unfortunately there's no outdoor quad), bundled up in my jacket boots and scarf carrying exciting projects. Looking professional, cause it's time to start networking people. I'm actually a little very excited to wait for the bus in the crisp fall air, my FAVORITE thing about fall, tea in hand.

I'm excited to choose something to wear every morning and more than all i'm excited to have my nails painted for 5 DAYS IN A ROW.

I'm excited to meet the people that are going to feel like family the next 4 years. And build relationships that I know are going to last into my career and that I can call these people good friends after and have the privilege of working with them.

I'm excited to have my own work space and bring my own tea pot and tea stash and drink tea everyday.

I'm excited more than anything to push myself and create my very best work. And it excites me to see what I'll be able to create.

I'm even excited to study and write paper. Yes, sounds crazy but I am. It also doesn't help that I have found the cutest little cafe in Gastown that i'm going to do it at! It's called Nelson the Seagull it looks great.

I'm seriously getting butterflies for school, i feel like i'm on cloud 9 :)

Hurry up Autumn.

September means several thing in my life. This year in particular is when I get to start my dream program. But other than that it also means AUTUMN is near! My second all time favourite month.

I must be a true Vancouverite because I LOVE the rain and the cold. I don't mind getting stuck in a down pour, call me crazy but I think it's perfect. Walking and hearing the leaves crunch below you. And there is nothing, absolutely NOTHING like the smell of a crisp autumn day.

I look forward to the early mornings with my boots a huge scarf my jacket and a mug of tea in my hand. That just sound utopian. I actually get giddy when I wake up to rain. Or fall asleep to it. Either or.  I just love the rain. I'm actually going to confess that summer is probably my least favourite month. I know everyone gasp. But my heart is with fall and autumn.

Oddly enough the thought of the cold weather and rain makes me feel cozy and warm inside.

Stuck in design dreamland

I've been looking up Australian Designers all evening and I think it's decided, i'm going to do a semester away in Australia.

Shannon Fricke is my favourite. Such cleans lines, and so fresh. Right up my alley in taste.

I think the experience would be amazing and i could spend the summer before or after the semester travelling and working. How great would that be!

Kwantlen makes it so easy to do semesters away and encourage it so much. Interior Design has so little options for partner schools but I know Australia is one of them. Maybe in my second or third year. That would be so awesome.

I've actually been browsing design blogs all day and gosh I cannot believe that's what i'm going to be get to be doing the rest of my life starting in september. I'm ridiculously excited and scared at the same time. But that's a good thing.

Hair Conundrums

I've spent a lot of time on pinterest in the last little while seeing as i've been on the couch with my foot elevated and iced. I've found myself looking for hair ideas because fall quickly approaches and I don't want to stay blonde for it. Well I kinda do. That is my conundrum. I really don't want to part with my blonde buuuut it's a lot of upkeep and well I missssss my brunette a lot. So I started looking for some ideas on colour when I looked for too long and have almost completely changed my mind all together. These are the ones i'm stuck on. I'm LOVING Miley's blondish-orange-auburn TONS.

Or just this.

7.31.2012

Too cute.

I'm a sucker for cute or funny animal videos.
These are a few I enjoy.
Thought i'd just share them.

Again

So I have to ask you to hold your laughter until after this next sentence. I possibly broke my foot again. The same foot. Actually the same bone. Thankfully it's not as bad as last time, but i'm pretty much going to be home on the couch majority of the time so it can heal properly before school. Especially because i'm pushing it so much by working full time because I can't afford not to on the basis that I need money and secondly, I don't want to be at home.

I'm just scared that everything I went through with it last summer is going to happen again. Especially with everything else going on right now the feeling i'm loosing everyone else is almost unbearable.

Fricken Cute

Also if this isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen.
I don't know what is.
I could watch it over and over and over again for a whole day
….well actually I kinda have.

My problem when it comes to blogging.

It's come to my realization that the most common problem I have when it comes to blogging or writing at all is that I have to much to say and don't know how to rationally organize it so other understand. There are so many thoughts whurring and whizzing around my mind. I always set out to write about something then the subjects gets too vast or complicated that I just bother not to blog at all.

I've always been able to compose sentences well and have above decent vocabulary, I attribute that to being able to get me though english. My down fall has always been organization. I get so distracted by my own thoughts or rants. My emotions change within the second.

I wanted to blog yesterday, oh did I want to blog. But anything that would have come off my finger tips would have been complete and utter rambles going in no direction.

Yesterday I had trouble comprehending my own emotions. I felt scared, angry, sad, weak, strong, broken, alone, hurt, positive. You name it I probably felt it within the last 24 hours. I've been so upset all week I feel like i'm going to throw up all the time. It literally gives new meaning to being sick of it.

I'm at that point where I just don't know what to do anymore. No matter how much I pray read my bible and tell myself otherwise, I can't even start to comprehend what's happening and why.

I continue to tell myself that I am other than what's been spoken over me and I know in my heart that I'm going to be okay and I definitely know i'm not defeated. I just want okay to be right now, because i'm so done with everything that I feel sick.

I had an incredible moment of weakness yesterday, and that's okay. The important thing is i'm going to get back up and fight.

So Satan if you wanna throw anything else at my go for it. I may doubt or get knocked down for a day or two but you bet I will never be down for good.

Love Came Down

If my heart is overwhelmed and I cannot hear Your voice
I’ll hold on to what is true though I cannot see
If the storms of life they come and the road ahead gets steep
I will lift these hands in faith

I will believe

I remind myself of all that You’ve done
And the life I have because Your Son

Love came down and rescued me
Love came down and set me free
I am Yours I am forever Yours
Mountain high or valley low
I sing out remind my soul
That I am Yours I am forever Yours

Bring it. Cause Jesus Christ has already won.

Goodbye Wilbur.

Because It's going to cost the same amount to insure my truck as it does for me to go to school for one semester unfortunately tomorrow is the last day Wilbur will be on the road.

I've loved my little truck and i'm almost crying writing this. It's going to be weird not having my own car again, but this the life of a student. I'm going to be a lot more broke this year than I ever have been any other year of school, it's going to be hard with my parent's control every cent that I make. I feel like my situation feels like i'm having everything ripped from me right now, but I guess i'll have to learn to adapt and grow. Thank goodness I don't have to do it alone. I have Jesus.. and amazing friends. Right now I just have this pit in my stomach from 3 days of crying and yelling and fighting. School cannot come fast enough.

Anyway before this turns into an unneeded blog rant, I'm really going to miss my car. Like a ridiculous amount.

7.24.2012

So. If you asked anyone of my best friend, up until today I thought I was going to merry Jef from the Bachelorette. Well, i'm not naive enough to actually believe it, but I think my friends were starting to think I was serious. I've never ever been one to fall for or crush on any celebrity of any sort. Even in high school, which is why I found this particular instance so hilarious and I think I played it up too much on purpose but it was hilarious. But alas the Bachelorette is over and Jef did win so I certainly don't have a chance.

unless.. never mind. haha

Sometime I find myself thinking about my future husband, and in all seriousness I think I could totally fall for a guy like Jef. Sweet, fashionable, daring, carefree unlike me. Someone who makes me do stupid things because i'm not an impulsive person. Like run out in the rain or just absurd things. I know whoever it is God has the perfect person out there for me. It's easy to get impatient, or doubt that i'll ever find him, trust me i've had my fair bunch of doubts, but I know God is taking this time to mold both him and I into exactly where we should be and need to be.

Hey girl I put the stud in bible study.

These are too good.
Anytime Joseph Gorden Levitt or Ryan Gosling.

Background Noise

I was hesitant to post another post with youtube video's of music..but what the heck, it's my blog i do what I want. So here's my summer playlist. I love upbeat music but sometimes for summer I just love soft music that you can relax to and these have been on repeat.

 Okay, that be all :)

JUST A THOUGHT

I revamped my blog layout.. and I

LLALALAALALLOOOOOOVE IT :)

Hopefully this will inspire me to blog a little more now :)

7.20.2012

So prettty

You could say i'm obsessed with this song. Jason's Demo Versions are usually much much better than his album versions. But I was enjoying this song so much the other day on repeat in the car that I got lost by missing streets 3 times.

Like a ton of bricks.

I'm sitting here having a pretty content night. Listening to a combination of Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran and Mr. Ben Howard whilst knitting and pinteresting and enjoying some tea while i'm at it. Scrolling though pins of beautiful Interiors and old Architecture it hit me. Me, i, yes me, and going to be studying all this in a matter of a month and a bit. Whaaaat.

I'm getting so excited to meet my class mates, go school shopping, and get all ready to go and dive in.

I'm even kind of excited for the commute. Whether i'm going to bus or drive i'm excited. It's along way so i'll have ample time to knit read and listen to music. It will be some good down time to do what I like and spend with God.

I cannot contain my excitement it's almost as if it's still not real. That I didn't get in.

I still doubt, and of course i'm scared crapless. Just choosing the bode on the side of excitement rather than anxiety because I hope, scratch that, KNOW i'll be fine.

7.17.2012

Funeral Setlists

So I thought i would start off with something a little lighter and funnier to jump back into blogging. My thoughts lately have been jumbled and not really able to write down so some light posts might help me get back into this thing we all call blogging.

Yesterday I was skyping with one of my best friends Paula and I was explaining to her the song my brother told me that if he ever died had to be played at his funeral. This got us laughing and thinking what would be hilariously ironic to play at our funerals so here it is. Matthew's choice in funeral song mine and finally paula's. Hope this gives you a good laugh.

This is Matthew's choice. You need to move into the middle of the song to fully understand the ridiculousness, hilarity, and predictability of his choice. As he chose it he uttered the words "doesn't it just feel as though you're leaving something and entering something else awesome like HEAVEN"….then he started jamming..with his whole body.

This was my selection. Honestly I was laughing so hard, it was ridiculous.

And finally the song Paula chose. Figures it would be City and Color.

6.18.2012

5 years from now.

I've never been afraid to grow up. Actually it's usually the opposite with me. Sometime my head is so much in the future that I can't wait for it's arrival. I spend a lot of my thoughts on dreams and possibilities. Don't get me wrong dreaming is great, and you should never stop dreaming.

But tonight, I know it's lame, while watching the season 4 opener of One Tree Hill I had a small epiphany. A realization I have had before, but never to this degree. I am always constant to remind myself to enjoy the here, to enjoy the now because one day I know i'll miss it.

I suddenly became aware, or the better word would be afraid, that come september I would be too busy for the little things. And from september on my career would begin. I almost felt like the days of my youth would be done. All the little things I hold so dear. The late nights, the girls nights, the lazy days would come to an end. And i'm not naive enough to know that this is true. It was a moment of weakness in my thoughts for sure.  But it made me realize one thing, that's not who I want to become. Someone so wrapped up in her career or her "to-do list" that I forget about the little things. That I loose sight in the things and the people that are actually important to me.

I pray that no matter where I am in life or what number defines my actual age that I always feel young at heart. That I don't get to wrapped up in a dream that i forget about the people and the things I care about most in my life. It doesn't matter to me if I have a huge successful design firm if I don't have the time to spend where it matters most. It would be great to have a huge firm and make all the money in the world, sure. But if I ever loose sight of my happiness then I know something is wrong. I know who I am now, and I know what is important to me. And I pray I never loose sight of that and I don't take any time I have for granted. I never choose success over happiness because happiness isn't in how much you have it's in who you have and the real quality things, not the materialistic quality things.

I just pray I stay true to God, myself, my friend, my family, my future spouse and children and I never lose grasp of reality.

I don't think the phrase appreciate where you are now has ever hit home more than it has tonight. Wherever you are in life, whether it be at rock bottom or the top of everest there will always be a point where you'll look back and miss it, or a part of it.

I know who I am now, and I know because of who I am, i won't ever get lost in these things. And it's alight to get scared and stubborn, we're human. I'm just glad I had God in these moments of fear and despair, cause man, tonight he let me know, everything is going to be okay. Your future, whatever it is always starts tomorrow, but it starts with a choice.

MARRY ME?

MARRY ME?

ACCEPTED!

Sorry for the prolonged absence. I was gonna start blogging again once school was finished but I plowed right into working on my portfolio.

I think i've talked about my portfolio before. ever since I graduated high school i've been working to get into Kwantlen's Interior Design School. Actually i've been working at it since probably grade 10. It's always been the plan. There have been no other alternatives, no questions. I applied the first time for Fall 2010. Unfortunately I didn't get in. You could realize how devastating that was for someone who had been working 4 year for it.

Still convinced this was the place for me I prayed about it, waited, mades pro con lists, everything. I just felt in my heart it was right. That this is what God wanted me to do. I was so passionate about it my heart hurt. I decided to take not one but two years and take courses to better my portfolio so they had no choice but to let me in.

I started doubting. As you always do. especially in the first year of courses. At this point I had to dig deep and come up with why I really wanted to do this. Why I was so passionate about. What drove me about it. I almost felt selfish telling God this is what I wanted to do. Because in the back of my head a little voice, that I now know was the devil was saying, "is this really what was meant for your life, it's not that GREAT of a career. How will you help people and show the God through just making a pretty house"

I struggled with this for about a year I prayed about it, waited on it, just wanted God to show me a neon sign that said "THIS IS WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO." But I still had trouble with it because I didn't get in the first time. One day I randomly found a book on sale at Chapters called "The Architecture of happiness" it was on sale so I grabbed it, only because it was in my favourite movie 500 Days of Summer. I started to read it over the spring and really enjoyed discovering what it was about. The book talked about how your surrounding that buildings your in sometimes down to the very detail effect people. And that was it. That was the reason I balled my eye out every Extreme Home Makeover. I wanted to make spaces that effected or helped people. Be able to solve problems they couldn't solve. Home has always been important to me and I thrived to create spaces where people could Grow, Love and Learn.

So with a renewed sense of hope and passion I pushed forward to my re-application. I knew there was a reason my heart ached for this. God wouldn't give my heart an ache for it for no reason. I just didn't see the big picture yet, but I knew that was okay.

So I just set to work on my portfolio with the plan that I would be THE best applicant they would see. I did almost anything and everything I could. Booked and interview with one of the top design firms in BC and then spent a day with my cousin in Victoria.

Which was an amazing experience just getting to talk to the both of them see their hearts.

The day with my cousin was amazing. I spent the morning picking out fabrics, then went furniture shopping then watched them go over and come up with a budget presentation. And then after lunch we went to a site visit. Which was surreal. I got to see decisions being made, even help with a few. As well as just seeing my cousin work with the client to meet her needs and seeing her so excited about decisions and how much it meant to her. I think that was my favourite part, coming along the bumps and helping the client though it and making a choice they're thrilled with and that excitement they get when they see what i see and see it all coming together.

Anyways. My portfolio interview was on May 10. I thought the interview went so abundantly well. When they asked questions it was more as an are you ready for this program whilst everyone else's was why Interior Design. I thought this was a good sign.

The next day i worked 9-5 and on my break I had a voicemail. My phone sends me a text with the voicemail converted in it so i read that first. Sometimes they aren't understandable so i kinda thought it said i got in, but i listened to my voicemail and in the middle of the crew room with everyone in there. I was like "i got in" out loud. I started shaking and almost crying repeating that I got in over and over again then i had to call everyone. I had so much energy i didn't even know what to do with it, yet i was shaking and crying at the same time.

Everything I had ever worked for paid off. I had done it! I felt like it was the single most greatest accomplishment I had ever achieved and no one understood. It was amazing I know know what people mean when they say they're floating on cloud 9.

But anyways in the Fall of 2012 i will be attending school for Interior Design! GAHHHHH

Dream house? :)

Okay i'm really excited about these! the quality isn't the best i want to render them in better qualities..BUT here are the renders i have from working on my project tonight. I can't quite put sentences together since i'm so tired wooo for being at school until they kicked me out every night this week and last week.
If there was a way i could find out how many house i've spent on this project alone i might pass out at the number. good thing there is now way to find out. It is easily 50 in the last week and a half :S

Also note, the finishes in counter tops walls, floors etc aren't what i necessarily wanted revit only has so much to offer and i don't have the time to pull in and find the perfect materials. I've already done above the requirements of the project a tad in hope to get the scholarship and maintain A+'s again this semester **fingers crossed**

So this is the front of my house.

 Aerial View
This is what i'm most proud of. It's super crappy quality so don't mind that. but I love my column surrounded main living room. I actually want to live in this house. Can I please just build it.
I haven't put in hardly any lighting yet to this render needs to be redone and lightened. but this is my kitchen taken from the breakfast nook which has a beautiful bay window because where the camera is placed.
I love my master bathroom. This is only half of it. And i still have to put in sinks. I love the raised tub on rocks. Flip it's amazing.

I also stumbled upon this band. Sometime they're a little too close to Mumford and Son's for my liking but they're sweet and there music video's are cool. Especially the first one!

(You may have to click *watch on youtube* sorry)

Best Song ever!

My friends husband's band just opened up for this guy, (Josh Pyke) I recently just checked him out and CANNOT stop listening to this song.

Gahh life.

MAN! The life of a student. If it's not life in the last two months it's school.

Finally i've caught up to where i'm comfortable. Maybe not where I want to be but I can breathe now.

The semester is almost over! Which means it's almost May which also means PORTFOLIO REVIEW.

Besides all the craziness of life and school i'm wondering if i'm ready for this. I know I am i've been preparing for two years. It's just tying up those odds and ends. Getting in those interviews and research and I really need to do a bunch of perspective sketches and gather everything to get together into a presentation.

On that same note because of my new found love to pinterest i have found it a great resource for design and architectural inspiration. I feel like I have a new obsession every other day and go theme crazy. From green roofs, to mirrors, to libraries, staircases, tin roofs. So I figured I would start a weekly blog not only to inform you about these amazing design elements and how they not only look pretty but are also so functional as well, (well sometimes they might just be pretty) but it will help me learn and allow me to use it as some of my research!

So after I compile a few things and have a block of time to get it up and running I will let you know and launch it. Still thinking on a name so let me know if you have any ideas!

I promise i will blog more now i'm all caught up on what life has thrown at me lately. All I can say is 2012 is really challenging me i'm sure in a good way, just not seeing that light yet, but I know God's got it all under control.

You are good.

Don't really know where my head's at. My words, they stumble and sometimes my hands, they shake.

But I know, you are God and I know you are God

I hold onto your strength. I hold onto your truth.

It still doesn't feel real. It feels like she'll phone any minute and ask how school is talk about nancy grace and how someone is missing again and she's praying for them but it's been 7 days so it's not looking too good. Or talk about how soon it's going to be summer and all the "teachers" are going to be walking the golf course. We went as a family to say goodbye. I've never seen a dead body before, and i didn't think i could do it. It was then it felt real, but only for the day.

One thing's for sure. I'm truly blessed with an awesome family. And I just wish I could be over there now. And my Papa is being the strongest of all of us. It's truly amazing, you think he's gonna break and them, bam he pulls it together again. It's amazing how you can see God's characteristic's through people. My Papa has always been an image of God's strength to me and in this time he still doesn't fail or falter because God doesn't either.

I just want this week to be over so I can back to the island.

But my to-do list keeps growing, and my bills higher and higher. I know this week i'll be running on Jesus, and jesus only.

I miss my Nana.

Totally me sometimes…or all the time.

minus the swearing.

Charlieissocoollike

By far my favourite youtuber. He's so charming and funny just can't help but watch him all the time. AND i always learn something which is a total plus.

May you please repeat the word?

"Can you please repeat the word, what's the word again? haro? hairline? can you please repeat the word? Herring? Harang? Herion? Can you please give me the definition? HUH HERON!"

Game day's almost here.

I love super bowl commercials!
It's pretty much my only favourite thing about the super bowl. This is my favourite from last year:

And then they've released one early this year. I love it! Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of my all time favourite movies. Could never get sick of it and always watch it whenever it's on tv. Which happens to be anytime i'm home sick which is perfect.

Goodbye Nana

Today I lost on of the most amazing people in my life. The most amazing women I knew. She was kind, selfless, passionate, caring and so much more. I learned so much from her. It's because of her and my papa I have a relationship with God they payed for camp year after year and brought me to church whenever I was on the island. My nana showed God's love in every thing she said or did. She demonstrated how to be a good mother grandmother friend and someday wife. She was a perfect example of how healthy relationship could be. She always believed in me, she was ALWAYS proud. She was the best grandma I ever could have asked for.

She gave so much to everyone in her world. She knit for the homeless, delivered meals on wheels for the elderly and sick, knit blankets for single pregnant mom's, had several people she sewed into. There was nothing my Nana didn't do. It still doesn't feel like she's really gone. She was so healthy. She walked for 45 minutes everyday. There weren't any signs no one saw it coming. I can't picture going to the island and her not being there. But I know she's in a better place. I just wanna be on the island with my family.

90's kid

Okay so on sunday I sat reminisced about the great 90's that I grew up in with my two best friends. So here are some of MY favourite songs, shows, things or whatever from my childhood.

there's a car in the kitchen!

I LOVED THIS SONG. or well this band. I listened to them day and night all the time.

I was actually THE biggest S club fan. Okay i'll stop, I think that was a enough of a blast from the past. I know have an entirely awesome playlist on my computer!!

I know my god is bigger.

Seriously been the weirdest week eveer. It's been full of highs and lows and honestly just all over the place. First off, locked my keys in the car, then my wallet was stolen, two horrible allergy attacks. BUT then a few of the most amazing things happened. I won an award and a 750 dollar scholarship, and got to spend quality time with my two best friends that are still here for the first time in a long time, I get to be apart of the most amazing ministry team ever with such big callings on their lives and they value me and my idea's as well, so many old faces back at wildfire this week, AND my brother came to wildfire.

Satan is undeniably trying to break me down. I've definitely been feeling spiritual opposition. And I definitely know why. Conference is coming up, and I KNOW God is going to do something huge. Like amazing in the hearts of our youth current past and in-between. And God's just saying, "Look these victories are bigger than you're defeats, satan's got nothing on you. And these victories are only just the beginning and so small in hind-sight of what i'm up to, just you wait."

I actually LOVE when I feel satan's opposition. It makes me excited. Like christmas eve as a child excited. Because I know know know in my heart that God is prepared to do something huge. I'm so ready to take it on. I'm so pumped. I was obviously excited for conference but it wasn't until this weekend that my heart set, spot on on fire for it.

So hey devil, when you attack me know it means NOTHING, because I KNOW God has already WON this battle. So try and tear me down as much as possible.

BRING IT!

Hello, my name is Nicole and i'm a concert addict.\

This is the truth. I love live music. I'm a glutton for a good concert. This last week I had the privilege of attending City and Colour. Man it was a good concert. Probably the best I have seen Vocally. I mean every concert I see is different and are totally not that comparable cause each band definitely comes with there own unique atmosphere, most of the time. But man, Dallas Green could come sing me to sleep anyway….and not in the creepy way. Amazing set list, venue and well everything. I love that he can just let his voice shine through his music, he doesn't need anything snazzy besides his lyrics.

Now, i'm going to fill you in on the other side of this night. Many a humorous things happened during before after whenever.

First..I dropped my phone under the seat below and in front of me and in attempt to retrieve it i asked my friend if I could borrow her phone for the light, henceforth dropping her phone along right beside it. Then after a bunch of bumping people with my head and feet and elbows etc. We ended up just asking the people in front of us to grab it after the opener.

Secondly. The opener. Man great music and I forget there name but I must find out. But my these were an odd group of a band. The guy I believe had his iPhone on stage during there set. The lead was wearing the oddest attire. The most oddest of there performance was there closing song, which was called "Give all your money away" where during the song the lead singer did just that. He just pulled out his wallet and started throwing money into the crowd. I thought to myself, seriously, he's throwing money away. It was kinda cool, corny, weird, wonderful, interesting, and entertaining all at once.

Well i'm not going to bore you with stories about my night as they're probably those "you had to be there moments" as I have found out when telling the stories to those who weren't in attendance. So if you would like to know just ask me. And chances are if you know me personally i probably will have told you already or sometime during this coming week.

(I believe this was actually taken at the concert i attended. This was the apparel he was wearing. And it was posted morning after I attended the show)
